TJ Gupta is the founding member of Riveria Investment Group. He is responsible for all aspects of investment management including the development of Riveria’s investment criteria and thesis, executing investments, and actively managing existing portfolio company performance. Tj has held numerous board positions across multiple industries and has been accredited as an active board member known for his ability to navigate complex situations as well as formulate valuable growth strategies.

Prior to founding Riveria, TJ joined Stripes Group where he was responsible for deal execution and portfolio company management across the consumer and technology sectors. Prior to Stripes Group, he was an investment banker in the mergers and acquisitions group at Houlihan Lokey.

TJ’s interest in investing stems from his grandfather, an entrepreneur who built several businesses at the end of World War II. TJ was fortunate to have a front row seat to the business successes and failures of those enterprises, and found a passion in navigating growth strategies, execution, and management.

Outside of Riveria, TJ enjoys spending time with his family and traveling anywhere with a beach. He is also a BBQ aficionado and gym enthusiast and has yet to realize how those two hobbies conflict.

TJ holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Virginia.

He is an active board member or board observer at a majority of Riveria’s portfolio companies.

Jon is responsible for deal sourcing, new investment evaluation and supporting Riveria portfolio company initiatives. He also plays a key roll in transactional due diligence surrounding new platform and add-on investments.

He is an active board member / board observer at Kalkomey Enterprises and Fabian Couture Group.

Jon was a four year starter for the University of Connecticut Baseball team, and took home the last championship for the original Big East athletic conference. In his free time Jon enjoys audio books podcasts and exercising outdoors. He still brings his baseball uniform and bag to the office, out of habit.

Prior to joining Riveria, Jon was in the finance division at ITT Corporation, helping execute a variety of management strategic initiatives.

He holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut.

Patrick is responsible for deal sourcing, new investment evaluation, and supporting Riveria portfolio company initiatives. He is also responsible for monitoring investments made by Riveria.

Prior to joining Riveria, Patrick was an investment professional at Credit Agricole, focusing on Private Equity Investments and Due Diligence in multiple sectors. Prior to this, Patrick was at Standard Chartered Bank, where he sat on the proprietary trading desk.

Patrick enjoys snowboarding and is constantly on the hunt for the perfect slope. Originally from Philadelphia, Patrick is “concerningly” obsessed with all things related to the Philadelphia 76’ers.

Patrick holds a B.S. in Finance & Economics from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Andrew is responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and due diligence surrounding new platform investments. He is also responsible for monitoring investments made by the firm.

Prior to joining Riveria, Andrew interned in the Equity Research and Wealth Management divisions at Lapides Asset Management and Morgan Stanley, respectively, where he was responsible for research and analysis on companies in various industries.

Outside of work, Andrew is an avid soccer player, reader and die-hard supporter of F.C. Barcelona. While he is extremely articulate in his investment research, he has still been unable to teach the Riveria team the difference between David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Andrew holds a M.S. in Finance and Investment Management along with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Sacred Heart University.

Elie Alcantara manages the daily administrative activities of the office and works on special ad-hoc projects.

Prior to joining Riveria, Elie was an office manager at Beldock, Levine and Hoffman, as well as ran building logistics for Park Avenue Associates.

In his free time Elie enjoys spending time with family and friends and challenging himself creatively as a chef. Elie is a friendlier version of Gordon Ramsay, and the office always enjoys sampling his latest recipe.

Minire Seferaj helps the Riveria team coordinate the daily administrative activities of the office and manages the day-to-day schedules of Riveria’s investment professionals.

Prior to joining Riveria, Minire was a legal paralegal and performed a wide variety of tasks including drafting legal correspondence, corporate event planning and external company communication.

Minire enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. Regardless of the time or place, Minire is willing to talk about Netflix’s newest shows in investment memorandum type detail,  and is known to never pass up a Netflix Binge weekend.
